SMITHFIELD – Ralph W. “Junior” Gerrell, Jr., age 70, died Friday evening, August 25, 2017 at his home. Born September 15, 1946 in Johnston County to the late Ralph William and Rosa Lee Wyatt Gerrell, he was a retired sales rep. with Drillers Services Inc. after more than 25 years. Following Junior’s retirement one of his great joys was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Monday, August 28, 2017 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with the Rev. Jesse Staton officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Selma Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. just prior to the service.
Surviving are his wife, Patsy J. Gerrell; sons, Wayne Gerrell and wife Rose of Emerald Isle and Scottie Gerrell and wife Dawn of Princeton; brother, Larry Gerrell and wife Teresa of Smithfield; sisters, Anita Jones and husband Larry of Princeton and Janice Thompson and husband Ray of Smithfield; two grandchildren, Kamryn Gerrell and Jewel Gerrell and his beloved companion, “Bella”.
