Johnston County Couple Arrested After Stepfather Accused Of Raping Child
SELMA – A Johnston County couple has been arrested on criminal charges.
Charles Ray Bryant, age 60, and Tass Eden Bryant, age 34, of Selma were arrested March 24, 2025 following a six month investigation by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities said the criminal investigation was launched after receiving a report from the Department of Social Services.
According to arrest warrants, Charles Bryant is charged with two counts of statutory rape of a child by an adult, two counts of statutory sex offense with a child by an adult, and four counts of taking indecent liberties with a child.
Warrants allege Charles Bryant had sexual intercourse with a juvenile female dating back to 2022. At the time of the alleged offenses the juvenile was between ages 4 and 7, the warrant states. At the time of the offenses, Charles Bryant was between ages 57 and 60. He is the reported stepfather of the victim.
The victim’s mother, Tass Eden Bryant, is charged with obstructing justice and negligent child abuse resulting in physical injury. According to her arrest warrant, Tass Bryant attempted to persuade the juvenile victim to recant her disclosure of the sexual abuse against her husband, Charles Bryant.
The arrest warrant further alleges Tass Bryant was willfully and grossly negligent in providing care for the child and showed a reckless disregard for human life “…resulting in serious physical or mental injury to the child.”
Charles Bryant was held under a $4.2 million bond and at last report was still incarcerated. Tass Bryant was given a $70,000 bond and released from custody

I have been tortured by people from Joco because I reported the rape of children and the making of child pornography in 2022 to the FBI. I am still being stalked by family members of baby rapers and child pornographers not currently under arrest…The current situation of sex crimes in Joco is out of hand. Pedophilia, child pornography, rape and unauthorized pornography has become too common place in Joco. When i tried reporting all this to local authorities years ago, I was chased from Joco by the doers of such deeds because the authorities didnt want to believe this stuff happens here. How many could have been prevented? Who let it get like this?

I know I already posted once earlier but this asinine Chester and Chesteress molestors gave me the very uneasy feeling to return. This poor helpless child should be spending their weekend learning in Sunday school today or out running like the soft breeze blowing on a daisy YET instead they are probably traumatized by two filthy naked mole rats. Just know you may not get the “deportation” you deserve right now but one fine day the wrath of God will certainly deport you to a very very hot place you won’t be able to escape. Innocent until proven guilty, though. Several years ago JCSD made allegations against a relative of a coworker. Using terms like “worst case of child abuse” and “unspeakable acts”. Nothing came of it, but JCSD did have a history with that individual and revenge was suspected. Also, devil’s advocate. Could the mom have been trying to get her child to change her story because she did not believe (or knew) the allegations were false? Just asking. If true then both should go down hard, but there have been past incidents of false accusations that resulted in convictions eventually overturned ( Little Rascals Daycare).
