Benson, NC: Mrs. Katie Mae Johnson Morgan, age 87, of 2546 Allen’s Crossroads Road went home to be with the Lord on her birthday, Thursday, June 20, 2019 at her residence in Benson. Funeral Service will be 11:00AM Monday, June 24, 2019 at Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Rev. Glenn McCullen. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery in Benson.
Mrs. Morgan was born June 20, 1932 in Johnston County to the late Tommie V. and Rabie Mclamb Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherwood Allen “Tom” Morgan; son-in-law, Ronnie Edwin Peacock; brother, Wade P. Johnson; and brother-in-law, Rev. Hubert Morgan. Mrs. Morgan was a retired manager at the Value Pack in Benson and a waitress with Dixon’s Restaurant. She was also a member of Benson Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.
Surviving include her daughter, Cathy M. Peacock of Benson; son, Sherwood A. “Sonny” Morgan, II and wife, Diana of Dunn; grandsons, Edwin Peacock and wife, Kim and William Peacock and wife, Krystal; great-great-grandchildren, Connor Peacock, Audrey Peacock and Caleb Peacock; step-grandchildren, Madison Anderson and Dawson Anderson; sisters, Nancy W. Keith of Benson and Cherry J. Littleton of Dunn; brother, Tommy R. Johnson of Dunn; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM-8:00PM, Sunday, June 23, 2019 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home.
