PINE LEVEL – Kermit Vaughn Anderson, Jr. age 78, died Friday afternoon in WakeMed of Raleigh. Born March 24, 1939 in Wake County to the late Kermit Vaughn and Dorothy Massey Anderson, he was preceded in death by a brother Jerry Anderson. Kermit was a retired CP & L district manager and was also retired from Interstate Glass Company as a Company representative. Kermit was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, the Smithfield Rotary Club, past president of the Smithfield-Selma Chamber of Commerce and a former Pine Level Town Councilman.
A funeral mass with be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the St Ann Catholic Church with Father Peter Grace officiating. Burial will follow in Selma Memorial Gardens.
Surviving are his wife, of 57 years, Ethel Ferko “Kane” Anderson; sons, Michael Anderson and wife Megan of Highlands Ranch, CO and David Anderson and wife, Carmen of Pine Level; daughter, Karen Anderson and fiancé Jeff Miller of Pine Level; sister, Patricia Silvers of Raleigh and five grandchildren, Sarah Anderson, Zachary Anderson, Christine Anderson, Marissa Anderson and Brayden Anderson.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the St. Ann Catholic Church, 4057 US Highway 70 Bus W., Clayton, NC 27520.
