Benson, NC: Mr. Lloyd Lowery “Pete” McLamb, age 93, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021 at the North Carolina State Veterans Home in Fayetteville. Graveside Services will be 3:00PM Monday, January 18, 2021 at Roselawn Cemetery in Benson. Revs. Glenn McCullen and John Foister will officiate.
Mr. McLamb was born on June 11, 1927 in Johnston County to the late James Lloyd and Bertie Ilar Hayes McLamb. He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Lee McLamb. Mr. McLamb was a retired farmer and a US Army veteran. He was a member of Holly Grove Advent Christian Church in Benson and a member of the American Legion Banner Post 109 in Benson.
Surviving include his brother, Jimmy McLamb and wife, Lunette of Benson; niece, Jama Harper and fiancé, Art Shannonhouse of Wilson; nephew, Jay McLamb and wife, Sonya of Angier; great-nephews, William McLamb and friend, Jessica Parris of Raleigh, Avery Harper and fiancé, Kailey Minnich of Angier, Jon McLamb of Raleigh, Evan Harper of Wilson, Galen McLamb of Raleigh.
Mr. McLamb will be available for viewing and you may sign the register book from 12:00PM-5:00PM, Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson. The family will not be present during these times. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers; memorials may be made to Holly Grove Advent Christian Church, c/o Connie Stancil, 3280 Beasley Road, Benson, NC 27504 or to one’s favorite charity.
