Benson: Mrs. Lorean Smith McLamb, age 88, died Monday, August 30, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, September 3, 2021 at Stewart’s Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church in Four Oaks. Officiating will be Revs. Freddy Wayne Langston and Sherwood Lassiter. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery, Benson.
Mrs. McLamb was born on June 25, 1933 in Johnston County to the late George Walter and Bessie Mae Lee Weaver. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jason D. “Tuck” McLamb and a great-granddaughter, Dakota Raeann Strickland. Mrs. McLamb retired as the manager of Norge Village Laundromat and a member of Stewart’s Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.
Surviving are her children, Patricia Ann Jernigan and husband, Donald of Benson, Gail Burke and husband, Philip of Benson, Danny Hodges and wife, Norma Jean of Coats; Cathy McLamb and husband, Jeffrey of Four Oaks; grandchildren, Denise Medlin and husband, Michael, Danette Jernigan, DeChesta Avery, Alicia Ashworth and husband, Jonathan, Megan Sasser and husband, Jeremy, Cody Hodges; great-grandchildren, Christian Medlin, Meredith Medlin, Tyler Silka, Mason Edens, Ayden Ashworth, Seth Norris, Paislee Jean Ashworth, Adalyn James Sasser; special cousin, Sadatha Creech of Benson.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home.
