Selma – Louise Mitchell Jones, age 88, died Thursday afternoon, October 5, 2017 in UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield. Born July 19, 1929 in Johnston County she was a daughter of the late Lovette Edward and Viola Parnell Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Aaron Jones; sons, William Keith Jones and Joseph Roy Jones; brothers, Kenneth L. Mitchell, Donnie E. Mitchell, and James H. Mitchell; and sisters, Alice M. Peedin and Mary Boykin. Louise was a member of Parrish Memorial Baptist Church in Selma.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 8, 2017 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Pollock. Burial will follow in Mitchell Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
Surviving are her son, Jessie Rudolph Jones and wife Teresa of Selma; daughters, Geneva Edwards and husband Robert of Smithfield and Lola Dail Ciampa and husband Anthony James of Zebulon; daughter-in-law, Sandra Jones; brothers, Joseph Mitchell and wife Alma and Elwood Mitchell, all of Selma; sixteen grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.
