Luby C. Tyner, Jr. age 64 of Selma, went to his heavenly home, Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Duke Regional Hospital with his wife and daughter by his side. Born December 21, 1956 in Goldsboro, NC to the late Rev. Luby C. and Ruby Creech Tyner. he was also preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Rev. Ernie Price and Rev. Richard McKeel. Luby was a faithful member of Branch Chapel Free Will Baptist Church for more than 40 years, where he served as Deacon and Sunday School teacher. He taught Sunday School at Autumn Home Care for more than 30 years. He always said he had lots of grandmothers. Luby worked with Parrish & Underwood Funeral Homes for 27 ½ years and prior to that he worked as a salesman with Heilig-Meyers Furniture in Smithfield for several years.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Branch Chapel Church with the Rev. Eric Narron officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Murray officiating. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall immediately following the graveside service.
Surviving are, his wife of 42 years, Renae Evans Tyner; daughter, Lindsay Tyner Ittenbach and her husband Jerry; grandson, Silas Ty Ittenbach; granddaughter, Kaydia Lin Ittenbach, who were his pride and joy!!; sisters, Nova McKeel of Sanford and Peggy Price of Selma; father and mother-in-law, Wilton and Inez Evans of Selma; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Rev. Woody and Karen Miller of Selma and Dr. Jeff and Terri Cockrell of Westmoreland, TN and multiple, loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Branch Chapel FWB Church, P. O. Box 100, Selma NC 27576.
