Lula Marie Rouse (fondly called Marie) was born October 11, 1935 to the late Charlie and Virginia Lewis. She was called to eternal rest on January 14, 2021 in Newton Grove, NC.
At an early age, Marie joined St. Peter Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ where she was an active and faithful member until her health declined.
She served as a decorated Usher (for over 50 years), as the youth Usher Director, as a member of the Missions Department, and as a VBS teacher. She was also a dedicated member of the Goldsboro – Raleigh Ushers Convention and the EverReady Club.
She leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Ruby Bryant (Jackie) of Newton Grove, NC; two sons, Harold Rouse III (Mary) of Smithfield, NC; Charles Rouse Sr. (Tiffany) of Clayton, NC; nine grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; two God daughters, Clara Newton and Betty Wells; and a host of great-great grandchildren, nieces, relatives, and friends.
