Angier, NC: Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Thomas Boyd, age 94, died Wednesday at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Benson. Funeral Service will be 11:00AM Saturday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Rev. Leonard Rex. Burial will follow in Providence Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Angier.
Mrs. Boyd was born December 18, 1923 in Kingston, PA to the late Thomas W. and Phoebe Phillips Thomas. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Weir “Bill” Boyd; brother, Thomas W. Thomas, Jr. and granddaughter, Sierra Elizabeth Boyd. Mrs. Boyd was a homemaker and church organist with over fifty years of service for Puritan Congregational Church, PA, United Church of Christ, NY and Buies Creek First Baptist Church.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, William W. and Patricia Boyd of Baltimore, MD; Thomas C. and Debbie Boyd of Binghamton, NY and John D. and Jennifer Boyd of Angier; grandchildren, Dakota Nicole Boyd and Brendan Shjon Boyd.
The family will receive friends Friday 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home of John and Jennifer Boyd, 73 Lexington Downs Drive, Angier, NC 27501.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Mount Zion United Methodist Church, Music Program or Building Fund, 15772 NC 50, Garner, NC 27529 or Providence Presbyterian Church, Music Program or Building Fund, 14664 NC 210, Angier, NC 27501.
