Coats, NC: Mrs. Mary Della Norris Pleasant, age 84, of S. Isabella Street went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at her daughter’s residence. Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, March 15, 2020 at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Coats. Officiating will be Rev. James O’Brian and Dr. Ron Byrd. Burial will follow in the Red Hill Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Coats.
Mrs. Pleasant was born on July 14, 1935 in Harnett County to the late W.C. and Delphia P. Norris. She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Pleasant; grandson, Paul Young; sister, Grace Williams; and a brother, Charles W. Norris. Mrs. Pleasant retired from Coats Pharmacy after twenty one years of service as a clerk. She was a member of the Coats-Grove Fire and Rescue for ten years and a member of Greater Light Baptist Church in Angier. Mrs. Pleasant loved spending time sewing and in her vegetable and flower gardens.
Surviving include her children, Tommy Young and wife, Dianne of Dunn, Kay Lawerence of Angier, Mark Pleasant and wife, Mellissa in Cameron; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Coats and other time at the home of Jenny and Kevin Jernigan, 243 Gran Nad Lane, Angier, NC 27501.
