Raleigh, NC: Mrs. Maude Opal Godwin Lee, age 94, passed away Wednesday at Wake Medical Center in Cary. Graveside Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday at the Johnson Family Cemetery. Officiating will be Revs. Benjamin Lee, Steve Massey and Mr. Tony Capps.
Mrs. Lee was born on September 13, 1922 in Johnston County to the late George Washington and Vara Rebecca Altman Godwin. She was preceded in death by, husband, Luther B. Lee, son, Luther Kirby Lee, Sr., brother, George Godwin and sister Eva Dudley. Mrs. Lee was a retired farmer and member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Surviving are, daughter and son-in-law, Frances and Ray Walston of Raleigh; grandchildren, Christopher Ray Walston and wife, Kelly of Florida, Andrew James Lee and wife, Grace of Four Oaks and Luther Kirby Lee, Jr. and wife, Jennifer of Lucama; thirteen grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Saturday 11:30 AM-12:30 PM prior to the service at Rose & Graham Funeral Home, Four Oaks.
