Maxine Phillips Strickland

    Kenly, Maxine Faye Phillips Strickland, age 70, died Thursday, February 9, 2017 at her home. Born May 9, 1946 in Wilson County she was a daughter of the late Jasper and Addie Mae Woodard Phillips. She was preceded in death by her brother, Lloyd Phillips; and sisters, Mary Jo Davis and Joyce Peedin. Maxine was a member of Faith Community Church in Clayton.
    Funeral services will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2017 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with Rev. David Sutphin, Rev. Joseph Woodard, and Mr. Chad Strickland officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. Saturday just prior to the service. A private burial will be held at a later date in the Eastern Carolina State Veteran’s Cemetery.
    Surviving are her husband, Tommy Strickland of the home; sons, Timothy Jack Strickland and Jonathan Chad Strickland and wife Susie of Princeton; daughter, Kimberly Morris and husband Phillip of Goldsboro; daughter-in-love, Pam Strickland of Pine Level; sister, Brenda Woodard and husband Marvin of Smithfield; grandchildren, Caleb Strickland, Kirsten Aycock, Sara Strickland, Nathan Strickland, Zander Morris, and Jayce Strickland; lifelong friend, Carolyn Aycock of Selma; and friend and confidant, Joseph Woodard of Phoenix, AZ.
