    Smithfield – Myrtle Helen Tyner Hodge, age 91, died Thursday, January 8, 2020 at her home. Born October 3, 1928 in Johnston County she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Lou Edwards Tyner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Hodge; sisters, Laverne Worley and Mary Ellen McLamb; and her children’s father, C.L. McLamb. Mrs. Myrtle was a long time member of Tee’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Smithfield.
    Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2020 in Tee’s Chapel FWB Church with Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Saturday just prior to the service at the church.

    Surviving are her daughters, Judy Massey and husband Linwood of Princeton and Deborah Godwin and husband Brian of Selma; sisters, Evelyn Norris and husband Billy, Nelda Creech, and Linda Robbins and husband Pink; grandchildren, Tracy Bamford and husband David, Michelle Adams and husband Shane, Brad Massey and wife Jennifer, and Jason Godwin and wife Nikki; great grandchildren, Justin Godwin and fiancée Haley Massey, Madalyn Godwin, Gabriel Adams, Aubrey Bamford, Layton Massey, Lily Adams, and Allie Massey; and five stepchildren.
