Coats, NC: Mr. Nathan “Billy” Norris, age 83, of 7163 NC Hwy 27 died Saturday at his residence. Funeral Services will be 2:00PM Tuesday at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Coats. Officiating will be Elder Devon Harris and Rev. Randy Beasley. Burial will follow in Devotional Gardens.
Mr. Norris was born September 19, 1934 in Johnston County to the late Bryant and Mattie Byrd Norris. He was preceded in death by an infant son; sister, Kathleen Byrd and great granddaughter, Katherine Victoria Wood. Mr. Norris retired from CARQUEST as a warehouse supervisor after 50 years of service. He was a US Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean War. Mr. Norris attended Angier Primitive Baptist Church.
Surviving include his wife, Linda Stone Norris of Coats; daughter and son-in-law, Sherry N. Wheeler and husband, Roger of Coats; two grandchildren, Chrissy Wood and husband, Jon of Dunn, Miranda Norris and husband, David of Hubert; two great-grandchildren, Tristan Wood and Jaxon Nathan Norris; sisters and spouses, Louise Pollard of Coats, Ann Messler of Garner; Peggy Adams of Garner, Doris Dupree of Clayton; Brenda Johnson and husband, Gale of Dunn, Helen Kirksey and husband, John of Cary, Janet Stephenson of Coats; brothers and spouses, Jerry Norris and wife Glenda of Raleigh; Mike Norris and wife Kay of Coats; brother-in-law, C.L. Byrd of Garner; several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Tuesday prior to the service from 12:30PM to 1:30PM at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Coats and other time at the home.
Mr. Billy’s family would like to thank Liberty Hospice of Dunn for their gracious care of their loved one.
