Clayton – Nina Blackman Boyette, age 92, passed away May 24, 2019 at Barbour Court in Smithfield. Born December 30, 1926 in Johnston County to the late Charlie and Bessie Pearl Benson Blackman. In addition to her parents Mrs. Boyette is also preceded in death by husband, George L. Boyette. Brothers, Hardin, Dillon and Thurman Blackmon; Sisters, Barbara McCart and Marie Carroll. A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday May 28, 2019 at 10 AM at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Clayton, NC. Mrs. Boyette is survived by sons, Donnie, Steve, and Earl Boyette of Clayton, and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Boyette was a member of Everett’s Baptist Church in Clayton, and remembered for growing her sweet potatoes, baking biscuits and pecan pies, being a hard worker, her love of bluegrass gospel music, and always welcoming visitors with warm and fresh biscuits at her house.
