Raleigh – Peggy Moore Price, age 81, passed away Friday May 7, 2021 at Wake Med Hospital in Raleigh. She was born in Johnston County on August 14, 1939 to the late Percy and Irene Sullivan Moore. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by daughter, Paula Price; and sister, Nettie Ruth Hagwood.
A funeral service will be conducted at Samaria Baptist Church in Raleigh on Tuesday May 11, 2021 at 3 PM. The family will receive visitors at the church from 2 PM to 3 PM. Burial will follow the service in Selma Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Price is survived by husband of 59 years, Jackie Price of Raleigh; grandson, Ross Smith & wife Kelsey of Denver, Colorado; sister-in-law Teresa Hargis of White Lake, NC; brother-in-Law John Price & wife Janice of White Lake NC, brother-in-law Jerry Price and wife Susie from Pine Knoll Shores, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she adored.
After high school, Peggy received a Business Secretarial Diploma from Hardbarger Business College. She worked in various departments at NC State from 1958 to 2019 spending the last 15 years as the Administrative Assistant in the Diagnostic Teaching Clinic. Mrs. Price was a long-time member of Samaria Baptist Church, lending a hand wherever she was needed, and serving as a devoted choir member through the decades.
Flowers are appreciated or, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Peggy’s memory to her two favorite causes: The Wake County SPCA or to the General Fund of Samaria Baptist Church.
