Smithfield – Phillip James “Phil” Thomas, Sr., age 72, died Saturday, June 1, 2019 in UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield. Born March 21, 1947 in Wake County he was a son of the late Alexander and Mildred Peebles Thomas. He was preceded in death by his son, Phillip James Thomas, Jr.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 6, 2019 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Knetsch officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Thursday just prior to the service.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Thomas; sons, Matthew Thomas and Brian Thomas, both of Smithfield; brothers, Tim Thomas, Tony Thomas, and Steve Thomas; sisters, Phyllis Immanuel and Ann Cox; grandchildren, Jami Thomas, Tiffanie Thomas, Ava Thomas, Charles Thomas, Rachel Thomas, and Victoria Thomas; and great grandchild, Charlie Thomas.
