Benson, NC: Mr. R. A. Joe McLamb, age 91, died Wednesday. Funeral services will be 2:00PM Friday at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Revs. Jacob Creech, Jerome Pope and Billy Keith. Entombment will follow in the Ennis Family Cemetery, Benson.
Mr. McLamb was born November 8, 1925 in Johnston County to the late Lester and Geneive Temple McLamb. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Pope McLamb; sons, Bobby Carol McLamb and Joe McLamb, Jr. and several sisters and brothers. Mr. McLamb was a land developer in the real estate business and also a member of the Coats Community Church.
Surviving include his son, Dennis Ray McLamb of Benson; sisters, Doris M. Tart of Coats and Dorothy M. Eagerton of Savannah, GA.; four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and one great- great grandchild.
The family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson 1:00PM to 1:45PM Friday prior to the service.
