MIDDLESEX – Ralph Lee Bass, 88, passed away on Saturday, December 4 th , 2021. He was born in Johnston County to the late Redden & Irene Stancil Bass. He worked as an Electric Meter Reader for the Town of Selma, where he went on to retire. Mr. Bass was also the cemetery sexton and worked in many other varied, unique occupations. He honorably served his country for many years in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his daughters, Lisa Bass Pulley, Roxann Johnson (James), grandchildren, Bert Johnson, Roger Johnson (Nikki), Christopher Johnson (Allison), great-grandchildren, Braden, Hailey, Ava, Brooklynn, Cash, Addie Grace, Charlie Kate, adopted family, Shirley Lane, Kathy Wheeler, Donna & Charles Flanagan, and his 2 best fur buddies, Molly & Trooper.

A memorial service will be held 3 pm, Wednesday at Branch Chapel Free Will Baptist, 7438 NC-96 N, Selma, NC 27576. Family will meet with friends following the service.
