Benson: Rev. Hubert A. Morgan, Sr., age 86, of 2635 Allen’s Crossroads Road died Saturday at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation in Benson. Funeral service will be 3:00PM Tuesday at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be the Rev. Mike Burney and Rev. Randy Beasley. Burial will follow in Morgan-Wood Family Cemetery, Benson.
Rev. Morgan was born January 28, 1932 in Johnston County to the late William Greene and Hettie Elizabeth Lee Morgan. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Tom Morgan and William Sherrill Morgan; and a sister, Alice Elizabeth Morgan. Rev. Morgan was called into the ministry in 1969 and he pastored several churches, Hair’s Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church for 22 years, Lee’s Grove PFWB Church for 9 years, Roseboro PFWB Church and Savannah Hill PFWB Church. Rev. Morgan was a member of Savannah Hill PFWB Church, Dunn.
Surviving are wife of 66 years, Lois B. Morgan of Benson; son and daughter-in-law, Hubert Morgan, Jr. and wife, Athea of Benson; granddaughter, Amy Jones and husband, Chris of Benson; two great-grandsons, Liam and Noah Jones; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson from 1:00PM to 2:30PM Tuesday and other times at the home of Hubert Morgan, Jr. 2667 Allen’s Crossroads Road, Benson, NC 27504.
