Four Oaks, NC: Mr. Richard “Dick” Johnson, age 79, passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at his residence with his loving family by his side. Funeral Services will be held 2:00PM, Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at First Advent Christian Church in Four Oaks, NC. Burial will follow in Piney Grove Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church outside Four Oaks, NC with military honors. Rev. Grace Hargis will officiate.
Mr. Johnson was born on November 2, 1941 in Whitehall, Wisconsin, to the late Dorothy Hagen Johnson and Norman Johnson and raised by the late Melvin and Dorothy Hagen Johnson Halvorson. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Broderick Parrott, mother and father-in-law, Claude and Viola Boyette and brother-in-law, Claude Boyette, Jr. Mr. Johnson retired from Deacon Jones Auto Group in Smithfield, NC as an auto salesman. He was a US Air Force Vietnam Veteran and was a member of First Advent Christian Church in Four Oaks, NC.
Surviving include his wife of 52 years, Blenda Boyette Johnson; sons, Chris Johnson and Kenny Johnson, daughter, Kirstin Parrott and special friend, Travis White, granddaughter, Katy Arthur and fiancé, Chris Adcock, grandsons, Chandler Parrott, Tyler Johnson and Jayden White, great-grandsons, Mason Arthur and Harrison Arthur, great-granddaughter, Brodie Kate Arthur, sister, Kay Stewart and husband, Roger, brothers, Eugene Johnson and wife, Linda, and Tony Halvorson and wife, Rita; special family, Nancy West, Dr. Shea Puttkammer, Levi and Hilda Lawrence and Amy Lawrence Harris and Jeffrey Lawrence; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Monday, June 21, 2021 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks and other times at the home.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Johnston Home Health and Hospice and the many caregivers and generosity from many friends during this difficult time.
