Benson, NC: Mr. Ricky Ray Barbour, age 65, of Dogeye Road passed away on Monday, May 25, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be 2:00PM Thursday, May 28, 2020 at Benson Grove Baptist Church, Benson. Officiating will be Dr. Billy Cashwell. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery in Benson.
Mr. Barbour was born September 21, 1954 in Johnston County to the late Doris Virginia Stephenson and William Vaden Barbour. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Billy R. Barbour and Bruce L. Barbour. Mr. Barbour retired from NC State University after 35 years in the printing department of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and was a member of the Benson Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 15 years, Helen S. Barbour; children, Maria Beasley and husband, Randy of Benson, Will Barbour and special friend, Brea Whittenton of Benson, Dylan Wheeler and special friend, Haven Skinner; grandchildren, Brandon Beasley, Logan Beasley, and Josh Beasley; brother, Doug Guan Barbour and wife, Betty Jo of Charlotte; sister, Judy B. Johnson and husband, Jimmy of Angier; several nieces and nephews.
Due to the current health concerns the family understands if you are not able to join them for the services. Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated.
Mr. Barbour will be available for viewing, and you will be able to sign the register book on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 from 4:00PM -6:00PM at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson. The family will not be present during this time. The family will be present other times at the home of Mr. Barbour.
