Smithfield – Robert Kenton Creech, age 87, passed away January 8, 2019 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield surrounded by his loving family. Born July 8, 1931 in Johnston County to the late Oscar and Mary Creech. Robert (Bob) is also preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Florine Creech; Brothers, Welton, Relmond, and Willard Creech; Sisters, Selma Lee Grady, and Dorsey Gordon.
The family will receive friends and visitors Thursday January 10, 2019 from 6 PM – 8 PM at Parrish Funeral Home. Services will be conducted Friday January 11, 2019 at 2 PM in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home. Burial will be in the cemetery at Barbour’s Chapel Church near Four Oaks.
Robert is survived by a son, Leo Creech and wife Elaine of Pine Level; Daughters, Bonnie Murray and husband Melvin of Bailey, Debbie Gerrell of Selma, and Teresa McGee and husband Chuck of Smithfield; Thirteen grandchildren; Twenty four great grandchildren; And one great great grandchild.
Mr. Creech enjoyed wood working, and was employed with the Johnston County School system for many years. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mr. Creech’s loving caregiver Hilda Thompson, and the entire staff at the SECU Hospice House.
