Benson, NC: Mr. Robert Louis Stephenson, age 88, of 600 W. Main St. died Monday at Liberty Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Benson. Funeral services will be 11:00AM Friday at Benson United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Revs. Al Hocutt and Pete Norris. Graveside service will follow at 2:00PM in Roselawn Cemetery, Benson, NC.
Mr. Stephenson was born December 20, 1928 in Johnston County to the late Kyle Vander and Myrtle Elizabeth Williams Stephenson. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jean Bryant Stephenson; brothers, Charles K. Stephenson, Benton Norris Stephenson and Kyle Hunter Stephenson and daughter-in-law, Laura Stephenson. Mr. Stephenson was a retired lead salesman for Capital Ford, an Air Force veteran and also a member of Benson United Methodist Church.
Surviving include wife of 20 years, Teresa Shelton Stephenson; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Louis Stephenson, Jr. of Charlotte, Kyle Leslie Stephenson of Raleigh and Joe Bryant and Krista Stephenson of Wilmington; step-daughters, Suzanne Elizabeth Shultz of Princeton and Jacqueline Jewel Shultz of Missouri; nine grandchildren; brother, Thomas Williams Stephenson of Cary; many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends at Benson United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall immediately following the service.
