    Clayton – Roy Franklin Lee, age 87, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 21, 2019, surrounded by family and friends. Born June 24, 1932 in Sampson County to the late Robert Franklin and Nola Pearl Jernigan Lee, he was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Merle Holland Lee, a daughter, Annette Yvonne Lee, brothers, Robert Edward Lee, James Daniel Lee, Jessie Vinson Lee and s sister, Roxie Lee Baker. Roy was a talented carpenter by trade. He enjoyed woodworking, puzzles and spending time with friends at McDonalds. He loved his family, friends and the good Lord and was a faithful member of Stones Creek Church. Roy was loved dearly and will be missed by all that knew him.
    Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2019 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with Rev. Craig Langdon officiating. Burial will follow in Selma Memorial Gardens.
    Surviving are his children, Marie Lee Starling (Don) of Smithfield, Roy Edward Lee of California, Bobby Ray Lee (Jo) of Selma, Timothy Leo Lee (Liz) of Bailey and Stacy Glenn Lee of Clayton; sisters, Bessie Irene Creech and Nola Alma Mitchell (Joseph) all of Selma; grandchildren, Michael Wayne Boykin, Ann Collie, Jimmy Lee, Jon Lee, Jennifer Lee, Billy Capps, Stephanie Spivey, Phillip Spivey, Chan Hales and Chance Starling; 14 great-grandchildren, Preston, Dylon, Lily, Joshua, Chase, Sophia, Marley, Elizabeth, Holden, Kylie, Lyle, Holden, Gabrielle and Wyatt and many nieces, nephews and loved ones.
    The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Wednesday at the funeral home and at other times at Tim’s home in Bailey.
