Selma – Roy Lee Richardson age 83, passed away January 8, 2020 at Eagle Pointe in Goldsboro. Born in Johnston County February 20, 1936 to the late Dennis and Bertha Bissette Richardson. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by wife of 54 years, Jean S. Richardson; grandson, Gary Wayne Stokley, Jr. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday January 11, 2020 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home at 7 PM. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. A graveside service will be conducted Monday January 13, 2020 at 1 PM in Selma Memorial Gardens. Mr. Richardson is survived by son, Dennis Lee Richardson and wife Teresa of Princeton; Daughter, Debra Stokley and husband Gary of Wilson; Brother in law, Eddie Smith; Sister in laws, Evelyn Campbell, Elaine Morgan, Kaye Worrells, Teresa Raynor; Grandchildren, Renee Stokley, David Farmer; great grandchildren, Juliana and Damon Farmer; Many nieces and nephews; Great great grandchildren, Adriana, Rhett, Brantley. Mr. Richardson was a member of Live Oak Baptist Church and also the Moose Lodge. Mr. Richardson had an extensive career with the Department of Corrections. He enjoyed traveling and listening to blue grass gospel music. He made friends everywhere he went and never met a stranger.
