Benson, NC: Mr. Rudy Lee Starling, age 65, of 66 Massengill Farm Road died Friday at his residence. Funeral Service will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday at Benson Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery in Benson. Officiating will be Revs. Glenn McCullen and Brandon Teachey.
Mr. Starling was born on January 2, 1952 in Harnett County to the late Russell and Pauline Parrish Starling. He was preceded in death by his brother, Steve Starling and sister, Paulette Starling. Mr. Starling was a retired sheetrock foreman with Sears Contracting and was also a member of Benson Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.
Surviving are wife of 45 years, Janie Byrd Starling; son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Khristie Starling of Chesapeake, VA; three grandsons, Austin Starling, Logan Starling, and Noah Starling; brother, Gary Starling of Coats; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 1:30 PM-2:45 PM Tuesday prior to the funeral service at the church.
