Four Oaks: Mr. Sherrill McLamb, age 85, of 166 Hannah Creek Road died Sunday at UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday at Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors. Revs. Jason Hudson and Joe Brown will officiate.
Mr. McLamb was born June 23, 1931 in Johnston County to the late Ransom Frad and Lessie Jane Beasley McLamb. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vida Ellen McLamb, son, Randy McLamb, brothers, Jeirl McLamb and Jader McLamb. Mr. McLamb was a retired farmer and was also a US Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. He was a member Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church and American Legion Banner Post 109.
Surviving include, daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and Marshall Lee of Benson; granddaughter, Shelly Johnson and husband, Trey of Four Oaks; great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Landon Johnson; sister-in-law, Bernice McLamb of Benson; many nieces and nephews
The family will receive friends 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Tuesday at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home of Marshall and Ellen Lee, 7033 NC HWY 50 S. Benson, NC 27504.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may sent to American Legion Banner Post 109 or one’s favorite charity.
