Princeton, NC: Mrs. Shirley Mae Woodard Morgan, age 83, of 306 Pondfield Road, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, January 24, 2020 at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Rev. Kenneth Littleton and Mr. Adam Dale Morgan. Burial will follow in Harnett Devotional Gardens in Dunn.
Mrs. Morgan was born on March 8, 1936 in Johnston County to the late Jack and Martha Ann Phillips Woodard. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Carroll Morgan and several brothers and sisters. Mrs. Morgan was a retired seamstress in the textiles industries. She attended Holts Pond Church of God and was known for her quilting and handmade items.
Surviving include her children, Danny Franklin Morgan and wife, Wanda, Adam Dale Morgan and wife, Mary, Kelvin Blane Morgan and wife, Cindy, Sharon Carol Morgan and husband, Thomas Rose, Robbie Wood and husband, Ken, and Sherrie Turnage and husband, Mark; fourteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; brother, Billy Paschal Woodard; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 12:00 PM – 1:45 PM Friday, January 24, 2020 prior to the funeral service at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to the SECU Hospice House, PO Box 1376, Smithfield, NC 27577.
