Kenly – Verna Gray Finch, age 81, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at her home in Kenly. Born, November 9, 1939, in Johnston County, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Hazel Anderson Finch and was preceded in death by her brother, Stephen “Bud” Finch. Verna was a member of Carter’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Selma. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She will be greatly missed by her loving family.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. in Carter’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Selma with the burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
She is survived by her sons; Robbie Bridgers of Kenly, Ronnie Bridgers (Sherry) of Kenly and Randy Bridgers (Tina) of Kenly, daughters; Kathy Helsher of Wilmington, Cheryl Bridgers of Hickory and Darlene Cooper (Russel) of Kenly, brothers; Linwood Finch of Wilson and Jimmy Finch of Kenly, sister, Rose Rowe of Wilson, sixteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
