Wilson’s Mills, NC: Mr. William Milton Capps, age 102, passed away on Friday, September 24, 2021 at UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield surrounded by his loving friends. Graveside Services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at the Hills of the Neuse Memory Gardens in Smithfield. Officiating will be Rev. Eddie Thompson.
Mr. Capps was born on June 10, 1919 in Johnston County to the late Herman and Mary Cole Capps. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Black Capps. Mr. Capps was a retired farmer and attended Wilson’s Mills Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoors man.
Survivors include his daughter, Doris Capps Marcom of Wilson’s Mills; grandchildren, Gary Capps of Selma, Darlene C. Bagley of Clayton; six great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; sister, Myrtle Godwin of Brogden; numerous special friends; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 9:30AM to 10:30AM Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks prior to the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers; memorials may be made to Wilson’s Mills Baptist Church, 652 Swift Creek Road, Smithfield, NC 27577.
In accordance with NC-COVID19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing guidelines and the three W’s: wait, wash, and wear a face covering. Face coverings are not required, but are kindly recommended for all services.
