Willie Benjamin “Ben” Anderson, age 75, of Smithfield passed away on March 29, 2018. Born in Johnston County on July 17, 1942, he was the son of the late Alonza Velbert and Penny Strickland Anderson. He was also preceded in death by brothers Howard, Bruce and Billy Anderson.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 2, at 2:00 PM in Oakland Heights Cemetery in Smithfield with Rev. Jerry Waters officiating.
Surviving are a son, Will Ray and wife Cindy of Winchester, VA; daughters Sheila Clark and husband Raymond of Cartersville, VA, Helen Anderson of Amelia, VA, and Marilyn Graham of Bumpass, VA; a brother Kenneth Anderson of Smithfield; sisters Pauline Shiflett of Smithfield and JoAnn Wellons of Goldsboro; eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
