A Louisiana church group made an unexpected stop in Johnston County overnight. Ten teenage girls and their adult chaperons were returning home to a small town near Lafayette, LA from a youth trip to Hampton Roads, Virginia when their van sustained a second flat tire for the night.
The van stopped on Interstate 95 near the Pittman Road Exit outside of Micro.
Highway Patrol troopers and Johnston County sheriff’s deputies responded to transport the stranded travelers to a local hotel for the night.
The church members had planned on driving through the night to ensure the teens could be in school on Monday. Those plans quickly changed.
Bulls Towing responded to fix the flat tire, then returned the van to the hotel so the group could depart early Monday morning for home.
