One Dead, Another Critically Injured In Coats Shooting

COATS, N.C. – One person was killed and another was critically injured in a shooting early Saturday morning in Harnett County.

The Harnett County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were first called around 6:04 a.m. Sept. 26 to Theodore Lane in Coats after a gunshot victim was located there.

Deputies found a wounded person who was transported by EMS to the hospital. The victim was listed in critical condition.

Investigators later determined the shooting had actually occurred on nearby Forever Lane.

Deputies went to that location and found a camper trailer where they believe the shooting happened.

Officers found a man who had been shot multiple times and was dead at the scene.

The victim was identified as Cristian Alejandra Rincon, 30, of Forever Lane in Coats.

The Sheriff’s Office has not released the identity of the surviving victim or said what led to the shooting.

The investigation remains ongoing.
