CLAYTON – One person was shot and killed Monday night at an apartment complex on NC 42 East at Glen Laurel Road. The shooting was reported just before 8:30pm on Beech Landing Drive.
After gunshots rang out, a neighbor saw a car speed away from the apartment complex. Responding officers spotted a similar vehicle near NC 42 and US 70 and briefly gave chase but lost sight of the car.
Clayton Police confirmed one person was found dead at the scene. Their name has not been released. Police would only say the victim is under the age of 20.

Ahh don’t you just love all the “ big city” things Clayton is getting with all of this housing and road widening? Things like traffic, accidents, crime, not enough schools, not enough fire , not enough roads…… it’s almost like being in paradise.
