One Dead In Domestic-Related Shooting At Smithfield Business; Suspect Arrested
SMITHFIELD, N.C. — A person was shot and killed early Thursday morning at an industrial facility in Smithfield.
Officers were dispatched around 4:51 a.m. June 25 to the AAF Flanders plant at 2121 Wal-Pat Road after receiving a report of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found one person dead at the scene.
Smithfield Police detectives immediately launched an investigation, identified a suspect, and obtained arrest warrants.
The suspect was taken into custody in Smithfield at approximately 9 a.m., according to police.
Authorities said the homicide appears to be domestic-related. Police also emphasized there is no ongoing threat to the public.
The investigation remains active. Police said additional information, including the identities of those involved, is expected to be released later today.
