One Displaced By Smithfield Townhome Fire

SMITHFIELD, N.C. – One person was displaced after a fire damaged a townhome Wednesday afternoon on Canterbury Road, off North Brightleaf Boulevard.

Firefighters from Smithfield, Selma and Wilson’s Mills responded to the scene and quickly brought the fire under control.

No injuries were reported.

The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced resident.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
