ANGIER – A Harnett County roadway was closed for more than five hours following a fatal car accident.
The single vehicle collision was reported around 11:30am Saturday on Lafayette Road.
A Chevrolet Impala ran off the roadway and collided head on with a tree. The driver died at the scene. Three dogs in the vehicle were also killed.
The roadway was reopened around 4:45pm.
Speed may have been a contributing factor. The Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
