One Person Dead, 2 Injured In Johnston County Crash

PRINCETON – One person died and two others were injured in a two vehicle accident. The collision was reported around 5:35pm today (Wednesday) on US 70 in front of Princeton Church.

Initial reports indicate a white SUV was in the median crossover, in front of the church, attempting to pull into the Princeton Church driveway. The SUV pulled directly into the path of a van traveling westbound on US 70 and was t-boned in the passenger side.

The two occupants in the SUV, a grandmother and her juvenile grandson, were headed to Vacation Bible School at the church when the accident occurred. The grandmother died at the scene. Her grandson was transported to the hospital.

The driver of the Ford van was also injured and transported by ambulance to the hospital.

The State Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.

Princeton Fire, Pine Level Fire, Johnston County EMS, and the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office responded.

  1. Don’t understand why someone would pull in front of an oncoming vehicle but regardless of the reason this is so sad. I pray for all and the families.

    • It is called an accident for a reason genius. Maybe they didnt see the oncoming vehicle. I am also certain you, Mr. Saint never also pulled out in front of a car when you probably shouldnt have eh?

    • Steve I’ve noticed you say you pray for some individuals in your posts and at the same time express indifference and contempt for others. Since you pick and choose, what God do you pray to, if you really pray at all?
