BENSON – Two southern Johnston County residents were arrested this week following a burglary and larceny in the Meadow community.
On May 5, a man returned to his home on Wood’s Crossroads Road and discovered a barn door open and numerous items missing, including a push lawnmower, miscellaneous hunting equipment, and a Yeti cooler.

The victim reported the theft to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office. A short time later the victim saw some of his stolen items for sale on a social media website.
Deputies were able to identify and arrest two suspects.
Joshua Neil Burdi, age 45, of Lee Johnston Road, Dunn was charged with breaking and entering, larceny, and felony conspiracy. Burdi was held under a $50,000 secured bond.
Leslie Schneider Carpenter, age 47, of Lee Johnson Road, Dunn was charged with possession of stolen property. She was given a $700 secured bond.
