CLEVELAND COMMUNITY – A Johnston County deputy, on routine patrol, reportedly caught two people moments after they allegedly broken into two commercial vehicles.
Johnny Rodriquez-Gonzalez, 33, of Bud Lipscomb Road, Willow Spring and Chelsea Kathleen Boerstler, 33, of Orton Road, Clayton are facing felony charges.

On March 8 around 5:44am, a deputy sheriff was on patrol in the 3300 block of Veterans Parkway when the officer noticed a car without a license plate or operating headlights pull from behind a business. There had been several recent car break-ins in the area.
The officer stopped the vehicle and identified Rodriguez-Gonzalez as the driver and Boerstler as the passenger. They reportedly claimed they had been “dumpster diving” behind the business.
Upon closer examination of the vehicle, the officer observed suspected burglary tools including a screwdriver, bolt cutters, and a homemade slim-jim vehicle access device.
A Kobalt leaf blower, assorted Dewalt and Milwaukee tools, many still in the original packaging, and a company fuel credit card were also found in the vehicle.
Deputies said company vehicles belonging to two businesses on Veterans Parkway had been burglarized and the items stolen.
The two suspects were charged with two counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle, possession of burglary tools, and financial card theft.
Rodriguez-Gonzalez was also charged with possession of methamphetamine after 18 grams of the illegal narcotics was allegedly found in a small bag in his possession.
The stolen tools recovered at the scene had an estimated value of $600.
