Pedestrian Critically Injured In Late-Night Four Oaks Crash

FOUR OAKS, N.C. — A man in his 70s suffered critical injuries after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday night in Four Oaks.

The accident happened just before 10:00 p.m. on East Sanders Street in the town limits. Emergency crews responded to reports of a pedestrian being hit and found the victim seriously injured.

Authorities said the Four Oaks resident was walking in the roadway when he was struck by a passing vehicle. Johnston County EMS transported the man to WakeMed in Raleigh for treatment of critical injuries.

Four Oaks Police are investigating the collision with assistance from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

Based on the preliminary investigation, no charges are expected to be filed against the driver.
