A Monday morning mishap shut down Highway 42 East, not far from Thanksgiving Fire Department Road, delaying many travelers on the busy highway.
A pickup truck and tractor trailer collided, sending the heavily damaged pickup down an embankment. No serious injuries were reported.
Highway 42 was briefly closed. The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office assisted with traffic control. The Thanksgiving Fire Department and Johnston County EMS also responded.
