The driver of a pickup truck ran off Highway 301 and struck a utility pole this afternoon (Tuesday).
The wreck was reported at 4:00PM in front of the Ole Time Grill on Highway 301 near Main Street in Downtown Four Oaks.
Emergency personnel said the driver of a black Chevrolet pickup truck ran into the back of a red pickup truck on Highway 301 southbound, crossed left of center going over a curb and striking the power pole head-on in front of the Ole Time Grill.
Four Oaks EMS responded to the scene and checked out the Chevrolet driver who declined transport to the hospital. The driver of the red truck was not injured.
Four Oaks Police have blocked off Highway 301 between Main and Church Streets until the power pole can be replaced. It is expected to take several hours before Duke Energy crews can replace the pole.
The Four Oaks Fire Department also responded to the accident.
There is no word on what caused the driver to wreck.
