CLEVELAND COMMUNITY – A Domino’s pizza employee and two Johnston County deputies were assaulted by a 33 year-old Clayton man, according to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office.
Joshua Allen Hibbard of Ridge Road, Clayton is facing simple assault, assault on a government official, misdemeanor larceny, resisting a public officer, and carrying a concealed weapon charges.
On January 10 around 1:37pm, deputies were dispatched to a disturbance at Domino’s, located at 5121 NC 42 West.
Authorities allege Hibbard pushed an employee against a glass window wall during a disturbance. After leaving, Hibbard alleged drove his vehicle off the pavement into the landscaping.
Hibbard reportedly began fighting with two deputies who responded. He was quickly subdued and handcuffed.
Officers reportedly found brass knuckles and three knives. A debit card somehow taken during the disturbance was located and recovered.
Hibbard allegedly claimed he was at the business applying for a job. Officers said it appeared he was under the influence of an unknown substance.
Hibbard was transported to the Johnston County Detention Center and given a $5,500 bond.
No injuries were reported.
