Planning Board To Consider 4 Subdivisions Totaling 272 Lots

The Johnston County Planning Board will consider a request for four subdivisions when they meet Tuesday night.

The largest proposed subdivision being considered is a 141 acre tract of land on Highway 96 about a mile south of Earpsboro Road in O’Neals Township. Developers want to turn the parcel into 142 single family dwelling lots.

82 lots are being proposed in Hawthorne East and West on Highway 39 about a quarter mile north of Earpsboro Road in O’Neals Township. The 82 lots would be situated on 91.54 acres.

Corinth Meadow subdivision would include 25 lots on 20.9 acres on Highway 96 about 700 feet north of the intersection of Strickland Hinton Road in Wilders Township.

Also, 23 lots on 21.47 acres are being proposed in Phase 2 of Terawood Farm on Old Fairground Road at Ennis Road in the Pleasant Grove Township.

The planning board will also hear a rezoning petition to rezone 1.45 acres at 149 Turnipseed Road in Wilders Township from Agricultural Residential to General Business – Special Use District to allow for storage and maintenance of vehicles and equipment as well as single-family residential use.

The Planning Board will meet at 6:00pm, Tuesday. Feb. 20th in the Commissioners Meeting Room at the Johnston County Courthouse in Smithfield.   The meeting is open to the public.
