WILSON’S MILLS, N.C. — A Raleigh man with prior convictions for indecent exposure was arrested March 12 after police said he exposed himself inside a Johnston County store.
Officers with the Wilson’s Mills Police Department were dispatched around 4 p.m. Thursday to the Family Dollar on Wilson’s Mills Road after witnesses reported a man exposing himself inside the business.
Police identified the suspect as 34-year-old Christopher V. Sumrell of Raleigh.
According to investigators, store surveillance video confirmed witness accounts of the incident. Police said Sumrell left the store in a vehicle before officers arrived but was located a short distance away and taken into custody.
Sumrell was charged with misdemeanor indecent exposure and driving while license revoked.
He was transported to the Johnston County Detention Center, where he was held under a $10,000 bond.
Online court records show Sumrell has several prior convictions for indecent exposure dating back to 2011.

I’m an old country girl…He better be glad I didn’t see him do that…He’d be minus a body part.
Charging and letting him go with no mental health treatment does NOTHING, this man is sick. Nobody in their right mind with no defects would pull their ***** out on random people. Take him to holly hill instead of jail!
several other convictions- how about you keep him in jail !!!! Our law enforcement continue to do their job and protect our community BUT the judges just let these fools out. Lets start having the judges be held accountable for these crimes !
