Police said a handgun was brandished during an altercation Friday afternoon inside Walmart on N. Spence Avenue in Goldsboro.
Goldsboro Police said they responded to a call around 1:20pm reporting a customer displayed a firearm during an incident with another customer while inside the store. As police responded, the suspect left the store on foot. The suspect was found a short time later at the bus stop on N. Spence Avenue in front of the Pinewood Square shopping center.
Jason Devaughn Haskill, 21, of Highway 70, Goldsboro was taken into custody and a handgun was seized. Haskill was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and going armed to the terror of the public. Both charges were misdemeanors. He was released on a $1,500 unsecured bond.
Police said the incident was isolated to an altercation between Haskill and a specific customer inside the store. Police said it does not appear that Walmart or other members of the public were targeted. No injuries were reported.
