Police Investigating Multiple Car Break-Ins

SMITHFIELD – Police are investigating a rash of car break-ins in Smithfield. Sunday morning, ten vehicles parked on Henley Place were entered and $4,560 in items stolen. Those items included a trail camera, drone, sunglasses, computer, cash and a .380 handgun.

Officers later found three vehicles on S. Sussex Drive had also been entered and $20 in cash, and headphones valued at $20, stolen.

Investigators have not released any information about possible suspects.

  1. Pretty sure all the vehicles that were “broken” into were unlocked. And why would anyone leave a gun in a car, much less an unlocked one?
